Breathing in times of COVID-19

Apologies for the little delay, I actually took all of Sunday off and didn't even turn on the computer once!

One of the first tell-tale signs of a COVID infection is breathlessness, or difficulty breathing. And I think that's metaphorical too. I don't know about you, but all these restrictions, the uncertainty regarding the future, all the worrying about staying safe and keeping your loved ones safe... this all makes it difficult for me to breathe. I sometimes feel physically squashed by the weight of the situation, and there's nothing better than a breath of fresh air to help lift that feeling. If you can't go out for a breath of fresh air, the next best thing is a pranayama session. In fact, I'm not saying that one thing replaces the other, if you can do both, then that's even better.

As not everyone is familiar with the different pranayamas that are available (there's loads!), I thought it best to start off with some basic instructions on how to expand the ribcage. I hope the video is clear, make sure you put the volume up as some people have told me that I come across as quite quiet sometimes, despite the sound being on max when I'm recording.

Please get in touch if there's anything that you want to ask, or if you want to make any suggestions... I'm all ears.

Namaste yogis and yoginis, have a great week.
