Garuda namaskar (Eagle salutation)

Hi folks! It's been a while, but you can't get rid of me that easily, ha ha.

This week's video is a sequence of poses, like the sun salutation (surya namaskar), but this time the focus is on Garuda, the eagle. I believe there is more than one version of this sequence; I learnt the one I am showing you here today from Emy Blesio, an Italian yoga teacher. I wanted to post a photograph of the triangle you should make with your fingers below this post, because it's not really visible in the video, but Wix won't allow me to post a video and a photograph at the same time, so I'll try to explain this a little more clearly. You should make a triangle in such a way that the palms of your hands face outwards (away from you), bringing the tips of your index fingers together at the top of the triangle, and the tips of your thumbs together to form the base of the triangle.

The contraindications for this are lower back injuries, knee injuries and uncontrolled high blood pressure.

I hope you enjoy it!
